Sales Director – Microsoft Business Applications | UK Central Government
Up to ÂŁ150k plus OTE
This is a senior sales leadership role for someone who knows how to originate, shape, and close complex deals within UK Central Government.
We’re looking for a commercially driven leader to own revenue growth for Microsoft Business Applications, data, and cloud solutions across UK Government departments and executive agencies. You’ll be accountable for building pipeline, converting strategic opportunities, and closing large, multi-£m digital transformation programmes aligned to public service reform, operational efficiency, and citizen outcomes.
Operating at Permanent Secretary, Director General, and SRO level, you’ll translate policy and operational priorities into compelling Microsoft-led transformation journeys. Working closely with Microsoft, delivery teams, and alliance partners, you’ll shape go-to-market strategy, lead flagship bids through regulated procurement routes, and position the business as a trusted partner in secure, AI-enabled government transformation.
What you’ll be doing:

Owning UK Central Government sales targets and driving end-to-end deal execution

Building and qualifying a strong pipeline across major departments and arms-length bodies

Leading complex bids through CCS frameworks, G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes & Specialists (DOS), and major procurements

Developing UK Government-focused propositions aligned to Cabinet Office priorities and digital reform strategies

Building deep senior relationships across departments, including Commercial, Digital, and Operational leadership

Leading, coaching, and scaling high-performing sales and pre-sales teams

Acting as a visible thought leader in Microsoft-enabled public sector transformation, including AI and automation
What you’ll bring:

Proven track record of originating and closing multi-ÂŁm deals within UK Central Government

Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks and commercial models

Experience selling Microsoft Business Applications, Azure, Data, or Power Platform solutions

Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and long sales cycles

Experience shaping large-scale digital and organisational transformation programmes

Strong leadership capability with experience building high-performing sales teams
